About the Role
As a Class 2 Driver, you will:
- Safely operate LGV Class C vehicles fitted with tipper/ hooklift equipment to transport biosolids between sites, including rural and off-road locations across Devon and Cornwall.
- Complete timely collections and deliveries in line with scheduled routes, operational priorities, and environmental compliance requirements.
- Ensure safe, compliant loading, securing, and unloading of containers in accordance with company procedures and biosolids handling standards.
- Carry out daily vehicle checks, reporting any defects or maintenance needs promptly.
- Maintain accurate records, including delivery/collection notes, tachograph data, and onboard system updates.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with the transport coordination team, site staff, and land management teams to support smooth daily operations and customer expectations.
- Provide excellent customer service during both on-site interactions and phone communications.
- Navigate rural routes and remote farm locations requiring strong driving skills, awareness, and adaptability.
- Contribute to sustainable waste management practices within the agricultural sector by supporting environmentally responsible biosolids transport.
- Uphold high standards of professionalism, cleanliness, and safety at all times.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Must hold a UK Class 2 C Licence.
- CPC qualification and digital tachograph card.
- Experience operating tipper/ hooklift equipment (training may be provided for the right candidate).
- Previous experience within waste, recycling, agriculture, utilities, or similar heavy transport environments is advantageous.
- Strong awareness of health & safety and environmental compliance.
- Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to safe working practices.
