The Role
As a Costs Lawyer / Costs Draftsman, you’ll be responsible for managing a diverse caseload covering both legal aid and inter partes costs work. You’ll be involved in preparing and assessing costs documentation, supporting claims and recoveries, and handling negotiations and disputes from start to finish. The role offers autonomy, variety, and the opportunity to work across a broad range of costs processes within a supportive team.

What’s Required?
The ideal candidate for the Costs Lawyer / Costs Draftsman role will have some of the following:

Experience working in legal costs, ideally within legal aid, inter partes, or similar costs environments.

A solid understanding of costs processes, and the ability to manage matters independently

Direct experience in the following are a big plus: CCMS, HCCP, prior authority, LAA costs recovery and costs appeals and reassessment work

Strong communication skills and a practical, and a detail-focused approach to work.
