Workshop Controller
Location: Bristol
Salary: £35,000–£44,000 Basic (Dependent on Experience)
Hours: Full Time, Monday to Friday + 1 in 5 Saturdays

The Role
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Workshop Controller to join a busy and successful automotive operation in Bristol. This key leadership position is responsible for ensuring the efficient running of the workshop, maximising productivity, maintaining quality standards, and supporting the service team in delivering an exceptional customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operation of the workshop and manage technician workloads.
- Ensure jobs are allocated effectively to maximise efficiency and productivity.
- Monitor workshop performance, labour sales, and utilisation levels.
- Support technicians with technical guidance and job prioritisation.
- Liaise closely with Service Advisors and the Aftersales team to ensure smooth workflow.
- Maintain high standards of quality control and compliance.
- Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed.
- Manage workshop capacity and scheduling to meet customer demand.
- Assist with staff development, coaching, and performance management.
Candidate RequirementsEssential
- Previous experience as a Workshop Controller, Senior Technician, Workshop Supervisor, or similar automotive leadership role.
- Strong technical knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- Main dealer experience.
- Experience working with dealer management systems (DMS).
- Manufacturer accreditation or brand experience.
