Brighton College is seeking to appoint a Window Cleaning Technician on a full-time, permanent basis.
Reporting to: Deputy Head of Facilities Services (Cleaning)
Main purpose of the role: To help create pleasant, safe, and visually appealing environments across all schools and properties in Brighton College by ensuring the efficient and reliable provision of window cleaning services.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
- Cleaning interior and exterior glass across all sites.
- The creation of a cleaning rota based on the requirements and accessibility of the buildings.
- Ensuring that all window cleaning equipment is in good working order.
- Cleaning up after each job, ensuring that there is no residue or dirt left behind.
- Assisting the rest of the cleaning department, as and when required.
- Any other reasonable management request.
- Additional cleaning will be required for Open Mornings and College events across all Brighton College sites, which may require weekend working as overtime.
Person Specification:
The successful candidate will have experience in the following areas:
- A valid driving licence.
- Proven window cleaning experience.
- Effective communication skills.
- Sound knowledge of the industry and related health and safety regulations.
- The ability to work at different heights.
- The ability to work in all weather conditions.
- Excellent problem-solving and time management skills.
Hours of Work:
Monday to Friday, 7.00am to 4.00pm with a 60-minute unpaid lunch break (40 hours per week). You will also be required to work additional hours to support four Saturday Open Mornings from 6.00am to 9.00am which will be paid to you in addition to your salary.
Remuneration:
The salary for this role will be £28,080 per annum. This is at the rate of £13.50 per hour.
Holidays:
23 days, plus bank holidays increasing to 28 days plus bank holidays after 2 years of service.
