About the Role
We are recruiting for a Loading Bay Supervisor to join our client, a leading horticultural supplier based in Chichester.
This is a hands-on supervisory role where you will oversee the safe and accurate loading and unloading of vehicles, ensuring goods and trolleys are handled correctly and efficiently across a busy despatch operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all loading and unloading of vehicles
- Ensure goods are secured safely and accurately
- Supervise and support the loading bay team
- Communicate with drivers, logistics, and operations teams
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation
- Record daily transactions and manage delivery documentation
- Ensure health & safety compliance at all times
- Carry out basic equipment checks and report defects
- Support planning and preparation of trolleys for deliveries
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a supervisory or warehouse/loading role
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Good attention to detail
- A proactive, hands-on approach
- Understanding of health & safety procedures
- Flexibility to work weekends when required
Pay & Benefits
- From £14.00 per hour
- Overtime paid after 48 hours
- Average working week of around 50 hours
- Minimum guaranteed 39 hours
- Pay increase after qualifying period
