Our client is seeking an organised and proactive Logistics Transport Planner to join our operations team with an immediate start. In this role, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating daily transport activities, ensuring deliveries are completed safely, efficiently, and on time. Collaboration with drivers, warehouse teams, and customers will be essential to maintain high service standards while optimising routes and transport costs.
Monday to Friday
7am – 3pm
Key Responsibilities include:
– Planning and scheduling daily transport routes and vehicle allocations
– Monitoring deliveries and responding quickly to delays or operational issues
– Communicating with drivers, customers, and internal teams regarding schedules and updates
– Ensuring compliance with transport regulations, driver hours, and health & safety requirements
– Optimising routes to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs
– Maintaining accurate transport records and planning documentation
– Coordinating vehicle maintenance schedules and availability
– Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the transport operation
– Using transport management systems (TMS) and other logistics software effectively
Skills & Experience Required:
– Experience in palletised UK-UK transport planning, logistics, or fleet coordination
– Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
– Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
– Good geographical knowledge and route-planning ability
– Excellent communication and customer service skills
– Competent in Microsoft Office and transport planning systems
– Understanding of driver hours, transport compliance, and health & safety regulations
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable Qualifications:
– CPC qualification or knowledge of transport compliance
– Experience within distribution, haulage, or supply chain operations
– Knowledge of logistics KPIs and reporting
