Fire Strategy Specialist (Tier 3 / Advanced IFSM)
East London (Hybrid – 2 days in office)

My client, a leading Fire Safety consultancy based in East London, is seeking an experienced Fire Strategy Specialist (Tier 3 / Advanced IFSM) to join their growing team. Reporting to the Fire Safety Manager, this role is focused on delivering high-quality fire strategy and design solutions across a varied project portfolio.
You will play a key role in the development, review, and technical justification of fire strategies, ensuring full compliance with UK Building Regulations and supporting performance-based design where required. This is a technical specialist position, offering advanced depth in fire strategy and design rather than operational oversight.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review fire strategy reports for new and existing buildings
- Ensure compliance with Approved Document B, BS 9999, BS 7974 and PAS 9980
- Provide technical input on escape strategy, compartmentation, smoke control and fire systems
- Support performance-based design and provide clear, defensible technical justifications
- Work closely with architects, design teams, and stakeholders on complex projects
- Contribute to planning, Building Control consultations and regulatory engagement
Requirements
- Tier 3 / Advanced IFSM (essential)
- Level 4 qualification in Fire Safety / Fire Risk Assessment (or equivalent experience)
- Advanced training in Fire Strategy / Fire Engineering principles
- Strong knowledge of UK fire safety legislation and design standards
- Ongoing CPD in fire strategy, engineering principles and legislation
