We are currently looking for Functional Skills Maths and English Tutors for a temporary, ongoing role within Prison Education at Liverpool. This role is covering sickness absence and extended vetting processes and offers competitive pay of £28+ per hour.

You’ll be delivering Level 1 and Level 2 Functional Skills Maths and/or English, supporting adult learners to develop essential skills that aid progression, employability, and rehabilitation.

The Role

  • Deliver engaging L1 & L2 Functional Skills Maths and English
  • Support learners with varying abilities and educational backgrounds
  • Prepare learners for assessments and track progress Maintain accurate learner records
  • Work within prison education and safeguarding guidelines

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience delivering Functional Skills Maths and/or English
  • Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent) or relevant teaching experience
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills
  • Ability to motivate and engage adult learners Willingness to undergo prison vetting (enhanced DBS required)
