Sales Progressor (Office Based)
Our client is an independent, award-winning sales and lettings agency with a strong
presence in Royston and the wider area.
Role Summary
Reporting to the Sales Progression Manager, the Sales Progressor is responsible for managing the sales pipeline, taking ownership of property chains, liaising closely with solicitors and key stakeholders, and providing insights to support business decisions.
The role requires strong industry knowledge, along with the ability to manage complex chains while maintaining excellent client relationships. You will be confident working independently, while contributing to overall team performance, and bring strong communication, problem-solving and organisational skills to drive transactions through to successful completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of property transactions from offer agreed through to completion, including complex and high-risk cases.
- Proactively work with other agents across the chain to maintain alignment, share
- updates, and collectively drive transactions through to exchange and completion.
- Act as an escalation point for Phase 1 Sales Progressors, providing guidance and support.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with buyers, sellers, solicitors, mortgage brokers, and other third parties to ensure effective collaboration
- Produce accurate monthly exchange projections and pipeline reports for management.
- Identify trends in delays, fall-throughs, and client behaviour, providing insights and recommendations.
- Support the Sales Progression Manager with training, mentoring, and onboarding new team members.
- Work collaboratively with solicitors to drive and improve referral conversion rates and strengthen ongoing partnerships.
- Proactively work to reduce the number of days from sale agreed to exchange.
- Implement strategies to improve efficiency, communication, and fall-through rates.
- Ensure consistent, high-quality communication with vendors and purchasers throughout the process.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records across all systems, ensuring full compliance and visibility at all times.
- Achieve or surpass internal targets relating to progression speed, accuracy, and client satisfaction.
Compliance & Governance Responsibilities
- Ensure all progression activity meets internal compliance standards.
- Oversee accurate data capture and escalation in line with AML procedures where relevant.
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure GDPR compliance across all client interactions.
- Complete mandatory training within required timeframes.
- Decision-Making & Autonomy
- Prioritise and manage a complex caseload with minimal supervision.
- Make informed decisions on progression steps, chain management, and issue resolution.
- Provide guidance to Phase 1 team members on best practice and escalation.
- Identify process improvements and raise recommendations to the Sales Progression Manager.
- Escalate high-risk matters, legal concerns, or significant delays where appropriate.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong communication skills, both personable and professional.
- Proven experience in sales progression, conveyancing, or estate agency.
- Ability to manage multiple complex transactions simultaneously while maintaining high service standards.
- Confident decision-maker with strong problem-solving skills.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to mentor and support junior team members.
- Strong IT skills and ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Target-driven with a proactive, positive approach.
- Resilient, calm under pressure, and able to manage difficult conversations effectively.
Working Hours / Location
Full-time, Monday–Friday 8:30am–5pm.
