Credit Controller – 9-Month Contract to Permanent Opportunity

Are you available to start a new role within a two-week notice period?

I'm currently working with a fast-paced and growing business based in Watford that is looking to recruit a Credit Controller on an initial 9-month contract, with the potential to become a permanent position.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 1–2 years of credit control or accounts receivable experience who is looking to further develop their finance career within a supportive and dynamic environment.

The Role

As a Credit Controller, you will play a key role in managing customer accounts, improving cash flow, reducing aged debt, and maintaining strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor customer accounts and maintain accurate records of outstanding balances.
  • Proactively chase overdue payments via telephone, email, and written correspondence.
  • Investigate and resolve invoice queries and payment disputes efficiently.
  • Allocate incoming payments and reconcile customer accounts.
  • Prepare and issue account statements and aged debtor reports.
  • Support credit checks and credit limit reviews.
  • Assist with month-end reporting and other finance administration tasks.

About You

Essential Skills & Experience

  • 1–2 years' experience within Credit Control, Accounts Receivable, or a similar finance role.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
