Graduate Teaching Assistant – Primary School

Apex Educ8 is currently supporting a primary school in East London to recruit a Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team from September on a long-term basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate who is considering a career in education, psychology, child development, or teaching, and is looking to gain hands-on experience in a supportive school environment.
The school provides a nurturing and structured learning environment where pupils are encouraged to develop confidence, independence, and a positive attitude towards learning. There is a strong emphasis on both academic progress and personal development.
Across the school, pupils are supported to develop key learning behaviours that enable them to succeed both in and out of the classroom. These include resilience when facing challenges, confidence in expressing ideas, and the ability to engage positively with learning.
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils across the classroom alongside the class teacher
- Work with individuals and small groups to support learning and progress
- Assist in delivering classroom activities and resources
- Help promote positive behaviour and engagement in learning
- Contribute to a safe, supportive and inclusive classroom environment
- Gain valuable school-based experience in preparation for future career pathways
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds a degree (any subject considered)
- Has a genuine interest in working with children and education
- Is enthusiastic, proactive, and willing to learn
- Has strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Previous experience working with children is desirable but not essential
This role is ideal for graduates looking to build experience ahead of teacher training or a long-term career within education.
