Interim Registered Manager

Manchester City Council is seeking an experienced Interim Registered Manager to lead a Short Breaks Service for adults with learning disabilities. This is a pivotal leadership role within a CQC-regulated service, aimed at providing safe, high-quality, person-centred care and ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Take overall responsibility as the Registered Manager for a CQC-regulated service.
- Ensure compliance with CQC Fundamental Standards and relevant legislation.
- Lead safeguarding, risk management, and incident response initiatives.
- Provide leadership and development for staff supporting adults with complex needs.
- Maintain high standards of care, safety, and service quality.
- Oversee care planning, record keeping, and performance monitoring.
- Manage service delivery in line with budget and organisational expectations.
- Work collaboratively with families, professionals, and partner agencies to promote independence, wellbeing, and positive experiences for service users.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Registered Manager (or equivalent senior leadership role) within adult social care.
- Strong knowledge of CQC regulations and inspection frameworks.
- Experience managing services for people with learning disabilities and complex needs.
- Demonstrated ability to manage safeguarding, risk, and regulatory compliance effectively.
- Strong leadership and workforce management skills.
- Experience in service improvement, stabilisation, or turnaround is highly desirable.
- Immediate availability is highly desirable due to the urgent nature of the role.
