Warehouse Operative

Are you looking to join a collaborative warehouse team who are looking for a warehouse operative to bring on board? You will be instrumental in the efficient operation of the warehouse. This role involves a variety of tasks including receiving, storing, picking, and packing goods, managing inventory, and operating warehouse machinery. You will also contribute to maintaining a safe and organised working environment.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Receiving and Storing Goods: Unload deliveries, inspect goods for damage, and ensure they are stored correctly.
- Picking and Packing Orders: Accurately select items from stock and prepare them for shipment.
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of stock levels, ensure proper stock rotation and perform stock checks.
- Operating Warehouse Equipment: Utilise equipment such as forklifts to move goods around the warehouse.
- Maintaining a Safe and Clean Environment: Adhere to safety protocols, clean up spills, and ensure the warehouse is tidy and organised.
- Additional Duties: Load and unload delivery vehicles, ensure goods are secured for transport, enter order information into systems, generate shipping labels and prepare goods for dispatch. Assist with various tasks as needed, such as stocking shelves, sorting items, and assisting with inventory counts.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in a warehouse setting is preferred but not essential.
- Ability to operate warehouse machinery safely – forklift license is essential
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills for processing orders and managing inventory.
