Job Title: Payroll Advisor
Salary: £28,000 – £34,000 (dependent on experience)
Location: Blackburn, Lancashire
Working pattern: Office-based initially (during probation), then hybrid will be doable
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a growing payroll bureau team as a Payroll Administrator. This is a fantastic role for an experienced payroll professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing high volumes of payroll data accurately and to strict deadlines.
- Ensuring compliance with security, confidentiality, and internal processes.
- Calculating net pay and producing payroll outputs in line with HMRC regulations.
- Submitting RTI returns (FPS, EPS, P45, P46).
- Producing month-end and year-end payroll reports.
- Liaising with HMRC, DWP, pension providers, and other external bodies.
- Supporting auto-enrolment processes and maintaining pension compliance.
- Managing HMRC downloads including tax codes and student loan notices.
- Maintaining accurate payroll records.
- Demonstrating awareness of CIS requirements and deadlines.
About You
- Minimum 2 years’ experience within a payroll bureau environment.
- Comfortable working under pressure in a deadline-driven role.
- Strong attention to detail with a high standard of accuracy.
- Confident communicator with a strong client-service mindset.
- Organised, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities.
- A collaborative team player who can also work independently.
