Assistant Accountant
Sheffield, South Yorkshire
We are searching for an ambitious Assistant Accountant to join a growing finance team based in Sheffield. This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified accountant looking to further develop their skills within a commercially focused role, working closely with stakeholders across the business.
The successful candidate will gain exposure to management accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and business partnering, while supporting key decision-making across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts and performance analysis
- Support budget and forecast processes across operational departments
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances
- Produce financial reports and KPI analysis to support business performance
- Partner with operational teams to improve financial understanding and reporting
- Contribute to month-end and year-end accounting activities
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and drive efficiencies
About You
- Part-qualified (AAT, ACCA or CIMA) or actively studying towards a professional qualification
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret large volumes of data
- Advanced Excel skills
- Excellent communication skills and confidence working with stakeholders across the business
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Proactive approach and willingness to take ownership of tasks
- Able to thrive in a fast-moving, operational environment
