About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and dedicated Art Teacher with experience and expertise in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to join our thriving secondary school. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and inclusive art lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, adapting teaching approaches to meet a wide range of learning needs. You will play a key role in creating a supportive and inspiring learning environment where every student can develop confidence, creativity, and self-expression.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Art lessons that engage and challenge students of all abilities.
  • Differentiate learning effectively to support students with a range of SEN, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, Speech and Language Needs, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment.
  • Monitor, assess, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback and tailored support.
  • Work collaboratively with the SENCO, pastoral teams, teaching assistants, and parents/carers to ensure students receive appropriate support.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment activities within the Art department.
  • Promote students' creativity, confidence, and wellbeing through artistic expression.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification (QTLS)
  • Atleast 2 years experience teaching Art at secondary level.
  • A strong understanding of SEN and inclusive teaching practices.
  • Experience adapting lessons and resources to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • A passion for creative education and student development.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
