You will be joining a dedicated Therapies and Intervention Team that works closely across the school to deliver a holistic, pupil-centred provision aligned to EHCP objectives and best practice in wellbeing support.
Your new role
As an Emotional Wellbeing Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils and students experiencing social, emotional and mental health challenges. Working alongside the Emotional Wellbeing Manager, you will help deliver targeted emotional wellbeing interventions using CBT-based strategies through the school's mentoring and intervention programmes.
Your responsibilities will include providing one-to-one and group mentoring, supporting therapeutic programmes, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to intervention planning and review. You will work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, parents and carers to ensure a consistent and supportive approach that promotes positive behaviour, engagement and progress.

What you'll need to succeed
- Experience or strong interest in supporting children and young people with emotional wellbeing, mental health or behavioural needs
- Knowledge of, or willingness to apply, CBT strategies and mentoring approaches
- The ability to work autonomously while remaining an effective team player
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with pupils, colleagues and families
- Confidence in maintaining accurate intervention records and attending review meetings
- A commitment to safeguarding, confidentiality, GDPR and equality and diversity
- A professional, positive and resilient mindset aligned with the values and ethos of the school
Experience within education, therapy, psychology, youth work or wellbeing support will be highly advantageous.
