Job Title: Temporary Street Cleanser
Location: Leicester
Duration: Initial 2-month temporary contract (with potential extension)
Working Hours: 37 hours a week – Monday to Friday
Job Purpose:
To maintain the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of streets, public walkways, and surrounding areas by removing litter, debris, and waste, helping to improve the local environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sweep streets, pavements, and public areas using manual or mechanical equipment
- Collect and dispose of litter, leaves, and other waste materials
- Empty public bins and replace liners
- Safely remove hazardous items such as broken glass
- Report issues such as fly-tipping, graffiti, or damages
- Support seasonal activities (e.g., leaf clearance, winter gritting)
- Operate cleaning vehicles or equipment where required
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and use PPE correctly
Skills and Experience:
- Previous cleaning or outdoor work experience is desirable but not essential
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Good level of physical fitness
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Basic understanding of health and safety practices
Essential Requirements:
- Full UK driving licence
- Must have held a driving licence for a minimum of 2 years
