Sheridan Maine is delighted to be working with a well-established and growing organisation based in Hampshire to recruit a talented Management Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive finance professional to join a dynamic finance team and play a key role in supporting business performance through high-quality financial reporting, analysis, and business partnering.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for delivering insightful financial information to support strategic decision-making, whilst helping to drive continuous improvements across financial processes and reporting.
Key Responsibilities of the Management Accountant:
- Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts and performance reports
- Produce detailed variance analysis, identifying trends and providing meaningful commentary
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, including balance sheet reconciliations
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
- Provide financial insight and support to stakeholders across the business
- Monitor key performance indicators and contribute to business performance reviews
- Support cash flow monitoring and working capital management initiatives
- Identify opportunities to improve financial controls, reporting processes, and efficiencies
- Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and project work as required
The successful Management Accountant:
The successful candidate will be a commercially minded finance professional with strong analytical skills and the ability to build effective relationships across the business.
You will ideally:
- Be ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified, or nearing completion of your studies
- Have previous experience in a Management Accountant, Assistant Finance Manager, Commercial Accountant, or similar finance role
- Possess strong management accounting and financial reporting experience
- Have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Be highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Have experience using ERP or integrated finance systems
- Be confident communicating financial information to both finance and non-finance stakeholders
- Demonstrate a proactive approach and a desire to drive continuous improvement
