SEMH Tutor Opportunities in Durham | Flexible 1:1 Education Support
Spencer Clarke Group is recruiting SEMH Tutors across Durham to support children and young people who require additional educational and emotional support outside of mainstream education.
Working through local authority and school-funded provision, you will provide tailored 1:1 tuition and mentoring sessions in homes, libraries, and community settings, helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and re-engage with education.
About the Role
You will support learners who may:
- Have SEMH needs
- Experience anxiety or school avoidance
- Have EHCPs
- Be disengaged from education
- Require alternative provision support
- Have Autism or ADHD
Support may include:
- Academic intervention
- Emotional wellbeing support
- Confidence-building
- Behaviour and engagement strategies

- GCSE Maths & English support

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Spencer Clarke Group work with a variety of schools covering a wide geographical area. We deal with teaching placements at Primary, Secondary, Special Education needs and college level as well as support staff positions also within these.
