We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Stores Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a busy stores function within a production enviroment. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, driven, and thrives in a fast-paced setting.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Manage and maintain the stores/stockroom, ensuring it remains organised, safe, and efficient.
- Conduct regular stock checks and maintain accurate inventory.
- Keep the stores area clean, tidy, and well-structured at all times.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives, including sourcing and procuring parts competitively.
- Liaise with internal customers, particularly engineers, to ensure timely provision of required parts.
- Build effective working relationships across departments through strong customer liaison.
- Manage and organise parts including bearings, chains, and other engineering components used within a food production environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Proactive and self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with internal customers.
- Experience within a stores, stock control, or similar environment is advantageous.
- Background in roles such as builder’s merchant counter sales or similar customer-facing stock environments would be beneficial.
- Ability to manage a high volume of stock lines efficiently.
- Any industry background considered; attitude and drive are more important.
