Deputy Practice Manager (Maternity Cover)
London GP Practice (c.7,000–7,500 patients)
£25–£28 per hour
22.5 hours per week | Hybrid working available (on-site presence required)
12-month maternity cover
A well-established London GP practice is seeking an experienced Deputy Practice Manager to join on a 12-month maternity cover basis.
Working closely with the Practice Manager, you will support the day-to-day running of the practice, ensuring efficient operations and high-quality patient services across a list size of approximately 7,000–7,500 patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the operational management of the practice, ensuring smooth day-to-day delivery
- Provide leadership and guidance to administrative and clinical support staff
- Oversee patient services, appointment systems, and practice workflows
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and staff development activities
- Ensure compliance with CQC standards and regulatory requirements
- Assist with complaints management, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support delivery of QOF targets and overall practice performance
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Deputy Practice Manager (essential)
- Strong understanding of GP practice operations and patient services
- Experience supporting CQC compliance and quality standards
- Confident managing teams and driving performance
- Proactive, organised, and able to identify and implement process improvements
