Insure Recruitment
We’re partnering with a growing, digital-first insurance intermediary to appoint an experienced Compliance Manager on a part-time basis.
This is a standalone, senior role offering full ownership of compliance across the business. It’s ideally suited to someone operating at Compliance Manager or Head of Compliance level who is looking for a flexible, reduced-hours opportunity while still retaining real influence, autonomy, and responsibility.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys being close to the business – a hands-on compliance professional who is equally comfortable supporting strategic decisions and delivering practical day-to-day compliance activity across a fast-moving SME environment.
You’ll work directly with senior leadership to build, improve, and embed effective compliance processes that support the ongoing growth of the business.
Why This Role?
This is a genuinely impactful role where you will:
- Take full ownership of the compliance function
- Operate as the lead compliance professional within the business
- Work closely with senior leadership and key stakeholders
- Play an active role in supporting business growth, product development, and distribution initiatives
- Build and enhance practical compliance frameworks and processes
- Operate in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where your input will directly shape the business
This role offers real ownership, visibility, and autonomy – not a position hidden within a large compliance team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the compliance and regulatory framework across the business
- Ensure ongoing adherence to FCA requirements including ICOBS, Consumer Duty, SYSC, and PRIN
- Build, maintain, and deliver the compliance monitoring programme
- Review and approve financial promotions
- Handle complaints oversight and conduct risk activity
- Support product governance and Consumer Duty implementation
- Maintain and enhance compliance policies, procedures, and controls
- Provide pragmatic, commercial compliance guidance to the wider business
- Support new products, distribution channels, and business initiatives from a compliance perspective
- Liaise directly with insurers, partners, and regulatory bodies where required
- Help embed a positive and commercially aware compliance culture across the organisation
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience within a Compliance Manager or Head of Compliance role
- Strong insurance sector experience (essential)
- Broker/intermediary experience (highly desirable)
- Strong working knowledge of FCA regulations including ICOBS, SYSC, PRIN, and Consumer Duty
- Experience operating autonomously or within a standalone compliance function
- A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach to compliance
- Someone comfortable balancing strategic oversight with hands-on delivery
The Ideal Candidate
You’ll likely enjoy working in an SME environment where you can make a visible impact and be involved in the detail as well as the bigger picture.
This role would suit someone who:
- Enjoys rolling their sleeves up and getting involved operationally
- Wants a long-term part-time opportunity
- Values flexibility while still retaining senior-level responsibility
- Prefers a commercially focused, collaborative environment over a heavily corporate structure
What’s On Offer
- Flexible working pattern (c. 2–3 days per week in the office) Salary circa £70K pa FTE
- Senior-level responsibility without full-time commitment
- High visibility and direct influence across the business
- Opportunity to shape and evolve the compliance function
- A collaborative and entrepreneurial working culture
