Join our team as a Street Cleaner, where you will be a vital part of a multi-disciplinary team carrying out grounds maintenance and street cleansing duties throughout the borough. This role primarily focuses on the upkeep and safety of public areas in line with current Health and Safety legislation.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Maintain streets and public areas according to their needs and designed maintenance and improvement programmes, ensuring service standards are met for the benefit of Doncaster residents.
- Perform general duties outdoors in all weather conditions, undertaking tasks appropriate to seasonal working arrangements and any emergency call-out situations.
- Act as a service request point of contact for customers, handling enquiries and maintaining good customer relationships, while acting as an ambassador for Doncaster Council.
- Undertake multi-skilled tasks across different service areas as required to meet service demands, ensuring a year-round service is maintained.
- Work safely using appropriate equipment, including mobile technology, and report any unsafe conditions or occurrences to the line manager.
- Provide professional support within the team and share good practice.
- Participate in the Council's standby arrangements, including winter maintenance and 24/7 standby cover, and take an active role in emergency situations, supporting the Emergency Planning Team.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Full driving licence.
- Proficient use of IT systems.
- Experience in customer-facing service delivery.
- Willingness to undertake further training to enhance skills within the role.
