  • Upholding the highest standards of practice by ensuring all procurement work complies with our client's internal governance and policies.
  • Acting as the main procurement contact for project and bid teams, providing clear and consistent updates on supplier strategy, negotiations and commercial status.
  • Working closely with commodity managers to guide supplier sourcing, engagement and negotiation processes.
  • Championing the company's commitment to ESG standards by ensuring all suppliers meet the required approval criteria.
  • Collaborating effectively with colleagues across various departments, including engineering and project management, to ensure procurement efforts support overall project goals.
  • Identifying opportunities for cost savings and managing any supplier-related issues to ensure they are resolved efficiently.

Who They’re Looking For:

  • A strong background in procurement, with demonstrable experience working on projects, preferably within the transport, engineering, or technology sectors.
  • A recognised professional qualification in procurement, such as CIPS or an equivalent.
  • A comprehensive understanding of structured procurement processes, from strategic sourcing and governance to commercial negotiations.
  • The ability to interpret technical documents and translate them into clear requirements for suppliers.
  • Experience using ERP systems (familiarity with SAP would be beneficial) and other digital procurement tools.
  • Excellent skills in building and maintaining relationships with internal teams and senior stakeholders.
  • The confidence to communicate with and influence people at all levels of a project, from team members to senior leaders.
  • An organised and methodical approach to your work, with a clear respect for procurement governance.
  • A proactive and accountable mindset, with a focus on taking ownership and delivering results.
  • The ability to analyse project needs and develop effective procurement plans to meet them.

Benefits

  • Annual company bonus
  • 26 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • Excellent Pension- matching up to 10%
  • Option to buy or sell an additional leave
  • Flexible benefits scheme to suit individual needs
  • Hybrid working arrangement with three days in the office
  • Support for professional institution memberships
  • Opportunities for career growth and advancement
