Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, personalised 1:1 teaching in the home environment
  • Plan and deliver an engaging curriculum appropriate to Year 2 expectations and the pupil’s individual needs
  • Adapt teaching approaches to accommodate the pupil’s medical condition, stamina, communication and emotional wellbeing
  • Work collaboratively with the Local Authority, parents/carers, health professionals and wider multidisciplinary teams
  • Monitor, assess and report on pupil progress and attainment
  • Maintain accurate records, lesson planning and safeguarding documentation
  • Ensure all teaching is delivered in accordance with statutory safeguarding requirements and professional standards

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or recognised equivalent qualification
  • Experience working with children with complex medical needs
  • Experience delivering personalised or alternative provision
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and SEND practice
  • Ability to work sensitively and effectively within a family home environment
  • Excellent communication and partnership-working skills
  • OFSTED/CQC registration

Desirable

  • Experience supporting pupils with epilepsy
  • Experience working within home tuition or medical education services
  • Knowledge of EHCP provision and tribunal-directed educational arrangements
