Robertson Bell
We are supporting a well-established organisation in Kent with the recruitment of an Interim Management Accountant on an initial three-month contract. This is a hands-on role within a busy finance team, offering the opportunity to support both the central finance function and a number of subsidiary entities across a wider group structure.
Working closely with senior finance colleagues and budget holders, you will take ownership of the production of management accounts and financial reporting, whilst providing robust financial management support across multiple business areas. The successful candidate will be comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment, building effective relationships with a range of stakeholders and working with financial data that is often managed through Excel-based reporting rather than highly automated systems.
Key responsibilities will include:
-
Producing monthly management accounts, including commentary, analysis and variance reporting.
-
Supporting budget setting, forecasting and ongoing financial planning activities.
-
Partnering with budget holders and operational stakeholders to provide financial insight and challenge.
-
Reviewing and consolidating financial information received from subsidiary entities, including journals, payroll information and cash flow summaries.
-
Supporting month-end processes and ensuring accurate financial reporting across the wider group structure.
-
Investigating variances and identifying opportunities to improve reporting and financial processes.
-
Preparing and manipulating large volumes of financial data using Excel.
The successful candidate will:
-
Be an experienced Management Accountant with a strong background in financial management, budgeting and forecasting.
-
Have previous experience supporting multiple business units, entities or subsidiary organisations.
-
Ideally have experience working within the public sector, not-for-profit sector or a similarly complex organisation.
-
Be confident producing meaningful financial analysis and management information for non-finance stakeholders.
-
Possess strong Excel skills and be comfortable working with data outside of highly automated ERP environments.
-
Demonstrate the ability to build relationships quickly and work effectively across a wide stakeholder group.
-
Be available to start at short notice, ideally immediately or within the next two weeks.
This role operates on a hybrid basis with three days per week required in the Sittingbourne office. The contract falls inside IR35 and will be paid via an Umbrella Company.
