Private Client Solicitor (NQ – 5 Years PQE)
Location: Chelmsford, Essex
Position: Full-Time, Permanent
About the Role
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a motivated and client-focused Private Client Solicitor to join a well-established and growing legal practice in Chelmsford. This role is ideally suited to a solicitor from Newly Qualified level up to 5 years' PQE who is looking to develop their career within a supportive and progressive Private Client team.
Working alongside experienced colleagues, you will advise individuals and families on a broad range of private client matters, providing practical legal solutions and exceptional client service throughout.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a varied caseload of private client matters, with appropriate supervision depending on experience level.
- Advise clients on:
- Wills and estate planning
- Probate and estate administration
- Lasting Powers of Attorney
- Court of Protection matters
- Deputyship applications
- Trust administration and succession planning
- Prepare and draft legal documents accurately and efficiently.
- Conduct client meetings both in person and remotely.
- Deliver clear, practical and commercially aware legal advice tailored to individual circumstances.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring a high standard of client care at all times.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and file management requirements.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the department to support team objectives.
- Contribute to business development activities and help strengthen professional referral networks.
About You
The successful candidate will be personable, empathetic and committed to delivering outstanding client service. You will have a genuine interest in Private Client work and a desire to build long-term relationships with clients while developing your technical expertise.
You will possess:
- Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) from NQ level up to 5 years' PQE.
- Experience or training in Private Client matters, including Wills, Probate and Lasting Powers of Attorney.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organisational abilities and attention to detail.
- A compassionate and professional approach when dealing with sensitive client matters.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively within a team environment.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to contribute to the continued success of the department.
