Hamilton Woods are currently recruiting for a Leasehold Officer to join an organisation on a permanent basis.
Responsibilities of the Leasehold Officer:
- Coordinate statutory consultation processes for major works programmes and long-term service contracts, ensuring compliance with relevant leasehold legislation and keeping residents informed throughout the process.
- Manage the collection and recovery of outstanding leasehold charges, progressing arrears cases through appropriate recovery stages and working with legal representatives where formal enforcement action is required.
- Liaise closely with internal finance colleagues to verify the accuracy of annual service charge budgets and reconciliations, ensuring costs are appropriately allocated and respond to resident queries relating to charges and expenditure.
- Investigate and manage breaches of lease agreements, taking appropriate action in cases involving unauthorised alterations, property misuse, maintenance concerns, access issues, neighbour disputes, anti-social behaviour and non-compliance with lease obligations.
- Provide advice and case management for a range of specialist homeownership matters, including lease extensions, variations to lease agreements, collective ownership applications and resident-led management arrangements, ensuring all requests were handled in line with policy and legislative requirements.
Essential Requirements of the Leasehold Officer:
- Full driving licence and access to own vehicle.
