As a Motor Vehicle Lecturer, you'll teach predominantly Light Vehicle qualifications across Levels 1 and 2, with the opportunity to support Level 3 programmes. Working with class sizes of up to 18 learners, you'll deliver engaging practical and theory-based lessons, assess learner progress, and support students in developing the technical skills required for successful careers within the automotive sector.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Light Vehicle professional with strong industry knowledge and a passion for developing others. You must hold a Level 3 Motor Vehicle qualification such as NVQ, IMI, or City & Guilds and have recent industry experience. Previous teaching experience is desirable but not essential, as the College will fully support you through a recognised teaching qualification and ongoing professional development. Additional training opportunities, including Electric Vehicle and Air Conditioning qualifications, are also available.

The role:

  • Deliver Motor Vehicle qualifications across Levels 1, 2, and potentially Level 3.
  • Teach predominantly Light Vehicle maintenance and repair programmes.
  • Work with class sizes of up to 18 learners.
  • Deliver engaging practical and classroom-based lessons.
  • Assess learner progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Support learners with employability skills and career development.
  • Fully funded teacher training and qualifications provided.
  • Additional CPD opportunities including EV and Air Conditioning training.

The person:

  • Level 3 qualification in Motor Vehicle (NVQ, IMI, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
  • Recent industry experience within Light Vehicle maintenance and repair.
  • Strong technical knowledge and up-to-date industry expertise.
  • Passion for supporting and developing learners.
  • Teaching or training experience desirable but not essential.
  • Professional attitude and ability to work effectively within an educational environment.
