Senior Geoenvironmental Engineer

Location: Watford Salary: £40,000 – £55,000 Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Geoenvironmental Engineer to join a well-established multidisciplinary consultancy in Watford. This role offers the chance to take ownership of a variety of ground investigation and geoenvironmental projects from initial tender through to completion, whilst managing client relationships and supporting junior team members.

The Role

As a Senior Geoenvironmental Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and delivering a range of site investigation and contaminated land projects across residential, commercial, industrial and infrastructure sectors.

Key responsibilities include:

Managing ground investigation and geoenvironmental projects from inception to completion. Designing and supervising intrusive site investigations. Managing subcontractors, drilling crews and site works. Interpreting geotechnical and contamination data. Preparing and reviewing Phase 1 Desk Studies, Phase 2 Ground Investigation Reports and remediation strategies. Liaising directly with clients, contractors and regulatory bodies. Managing project budgets, programmes and commercial performance. Mentoring and supporting junior engineers and graduates. Contributing to business development and maintaining strong client relationships.

Requirements: Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline. Experience within a geoenvironmental or ground investigation consultancy. Strong project management experience. Proven experience supervising site investigations and producing technical reports. Good understanding of contaminated land legislation and guidance. Excellent communication and client-facing skills. Full UK driving licence.
