Performance Marketing Manager

Digital Tonic

The Independent Pharmacy is one of the UK's leading online pharmacies, helping thousands of patients access safe, regulated healthcare services every day. Having built a highly successful digital acquisition engine, the business is now looking for an experienced Performance Marketing Manager to help unlock the next stage of growth.

This is a rare opportunity to join a well established eCommerce business where paid search plays a critical role in customer acquisition and commercial performance. With a significant investment already committed to the channel, the business believes there is considerable opportunity to scale customer acquisition further and is looking for someone who can help unlock that growth through strategic thinking, commercial acumen and the analytical capability needed to maximise the channel's potential.

Working closely with the Head of Marketing and wider leadership team, you'll play a key role in shaping the future direction of paid acquisition, whilst taking ownership of one of the company's most important growth channels.

The Role

As Performance Marketing Manager, you'll take ownership of one of the business's most important acquisition channels. Working closely with the company's paid media agency, you'll help shape strategy, identify opportunities for growth and ensure paid search continues to scale profitably.

This is a highly commercial role that requires someone who is equally comfortable discussing customer lifetime value, profitability and forecasting as they are analysing campaign performance. You'll use data and insight to identify opportunities, influence investment decisions and help maximise the return from a significant paid search budget.

Importantly, this isn't a role where you'll simply maintain the status quo. The business sees paid search as a key driver of future growth and has the appetite to invest further where opportunities can be identified and commercial returns demonstrated. As such, we're looking for someone who can combine strategic thinking with hands on channel expertise to help unlock the next stage of growth.

Whilst the role sits within the wider performance marketing function, the primary focus is paid search across Google Ads, Google Shopping, Performance Max and Microsoft Ads. You'll also oversee a small affiliate programme through an external agency, whilst collaborating closely with colleagues across SEO, CRM, Analytics and the wider marketing team to ensure a joined up acquisition strategy.

Success in this role will come from your ability to combine strong commercial thinking with deep channel expertise, using data and insight to drive continual improvement and sustainable growth.

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience managing and growing large scale paid search accounts
  • Strong knowledge of Google Ads, including Search, Shopping and Performance Max
  • Experience managing significant paid media budgets and delivering measurable growth
  • Confident managing and challenging external agency partners to maximise performance
  • Strong commercial understanding of metrics such as ROAS, CAC, CPA, contribution and customer lifetime value
  • Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret performance data and translate insights into action
  • Experience using GA4, Google Tag Manager and other reporting and attribution tools
  • Comfortable forecasting, budget planning and performance modelling
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Experience within eCommerce or other high volume customer acquisition environments would be highly beneficial

Benefits

This is an opportunity to join a business with ambitious growth plans, a strong market position and a leadership team that genuinely values data driven decision making. You'll have the opportunity to make a visible impact, influence strategic direction and play a key role in the future growth of one of the UK's leading online healthcare brands.

There's a salary on offer of £55k-£60k, alongside hybrid working with 3 days per week in the Bristol office and 2 days working from home.
