Butler Rose is delighted to be working in partnership with a well-established and growing manufacturing business to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation that designs and manufactures high-quality engineered products for a diverse customer base. You'll play a key role in the full product lifecycle, from concept through to production.
The Role
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for developing innovative and practical design solutions, ensuring products meet both customer and regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and developing mechanical components and assemblies using CAD software
- Producing detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Supporting product development from initial concept through to manufacture
- Liaising with internal teams including production, quality, and procurement
- Conducting design reviews and ensuring compliance with relevant standards
- Supporting continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Experience in a mechanical design engineering role within a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Proficiency with 3D CAD (e.g. SolidWorks, Inventor or similar)
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and materials
- The ability to take ownership of projects and work both independently and as part of a team
- A proactive and detail-oriented approach
