Commercial & Procurement Manager
London (Manchester / Bristol considered) | Hybrid
£500 – £550 per day (Inside IR35)
12-month contract (with potential extension)
Active SC Clearance preferred or SC eligible
The Opportunity
We're supporting a high-profile central government organisation in the search for an experienced Commercial & Procurement Manager.
This role sits within a key function driving apprenticeship and talent programmes, offering the opportunity to work at the heart of impactful, large-scale public sector initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage contracts with apprenticeship and learning providers, including KPI tracking and performance reviews
- Lead and support end-to-end procurement activities, including business cases, framework usage (e.g. CCS), and supplier selection
- Oversee contract transitions and establish effective BAU contract management frameworks
- Deliver high-quality reporting to senior stakeholders across government
- Support broader procurement activity across digital and cyber portfolios
About You
- Strong commercial experience within UK central government or wider public sector
- Proven expertise in procurement and contract management, including framework utilisation
- Experience managing or procuring apprenticeship, talent, or learning solutions
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
- A self-starter who can operate effectively in fast-paced environments with minimal direction
- Highly collaborative with strong interpersonal skills
Desirable Experience
- Exposure to Agile delivery environments or tools (e.g. JIRA)
- Relevant qualifications such as PRINCE2, CIPD, or similar (not essential)
Additional Information
- Hybrid working model (typically 2-3 days onsite per week, with flexibility)
- Occasional travel for meetings and team engagements
- Must be eligible for UK Security Clearance
