We're recruiting on behalf of a forward-thinking, high-tech engineering business developing innovative precision-engineered products and systems. Due to continued growth, they're looking to add a Mechanical Design Engineer to their collaborative and highly skilled design team.
This opportunity would suit either an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer looking for a technically challenging role, or a recent Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Design graduate eager to build their career within a supportive and innovative environment.
You'll have the opportunity to work on projects from concept through to production, collaborating with experienced engineers across design, manufacturing, electronics, and software functions.
The Role
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you'll support the development of innovative engineered products across a varied project portfolio.
Responsibilities may include:
- Producing 3D CAD models and assemblies using SolidWorks
- Creating detailed engineering drawings for manufacture
- Supporting new product development projects from concept to release
- Applying design-for-manufacture (DFM) principles
- Assisting with prototyping, testing, and product validation
- Collaborating with manufacturing, electronics, and software teams
- Liaising with suppliers and supporting continuous improvement initiatives
- Providing technical support during production and assembly processes
The level of responsibility will reflect your experience, with mentoring, training, and development available for graduates and early-career engineers.
About You
We're looking for motivated and technically minded individuals who enjoy problem-solving and working within a collaborative engineering team.
You may have:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design Engineering, Product Design Engineering, or a similar discipline
- Experience within mechanical design or product development through industry roles, placements, internships, university projects, or academic study
- Exposure to SolidWorks or other 3D CAD software
- An understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering materials
- Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn
- Good communication and organisational skills
