1. Responsible for the delivery of the Council's Income and Debt Recovery Service
2. Responsibility for overall operational performance of the service, effective management of direct reports and team members
3. Responsible for a review of current activity and make recommendations for improvements and show progress in improving income collection across key debt streams. This review will also include the current systems with recommendations for provision going forward as well as taking the lead for debt management in the Councils ERP replacement project.
4. Take lead responsibility to produce any statutory and financial returns, including the management of write offs across the Council, delivering specific performance information and directorate recovery rates and debtors.
5. Responsible for providing professional advice on al aspects of debt management, credit control and appropriate recovery routes across all income streams and functional areas.
The role will be a hybrid role with the expectation of attendance at our Wood Green office a minimum of two days per week.
The post holder will be working with financial colleagues and the Head of Service to promote cultural change and debt management ownership across the organisation. This will require engagement with stakeholders and attendance at Directorate meetings to discuss debt in specific areas.
The post holder will also play a key role in the ASC debt and income project.
