Reed Accountancy are currently exclusively partnered with a Reading based client as they seek an Accounts Assistant to join their friendly and supportive finance team based in the town centre.
This is a great opportunity for someone with solid accounting experience across Accounts Payable and Receivable, with some exposure to month-end processes, who is looking to build on their existing experience and develop their finance career within a progressive environment.
You will be working with and reporting into the Finance Manager and play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of the finance function while gaining valuable exposure to month-end activities and wider accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with month-end close processes including journal postings and accruals/prepayments
- Supporting balance sheet reconciliations
- Processing purchase invoices and supplier payments
- Raising sales invoices and supporting credit control activities
- Maintaining accurate financial records and data entry
- Assisting with bank reconciliations
- Supporting with financial reporting and analysis where required
- Handling supplier and internal queries in a timely manner
- Assisting with audit preparation and ad hoc finance projects
To be considered for the role, you will have experience within a Finance role with exposure to month-end activities preferred. You’re keen to take on new challenges and can bring a strong attention to detail, solid organisational skills, and confidence using Excel and Xero. A proactive, positive approach and a genuine willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities are key.
The office works on a hybrid basis with 1 day from home per week. Due to the location there is not parking, however there are local car parks and public transport routes.
