A well-established retail business is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join its busy finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-paced, customer-focused environment where stock movement is high, accuracy is essential, and no two days are the same. The role will suit someone with experience in transactional finance who is confident working in a high-volume retail environment. You will be responsible for supporting both purchase and sales ledger processes, assisting with invoice processing and coding, reconciling supplier statements, supporting bank reconciliations, processing payments, and helping to resolve internal and external finance queries. You will also play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting month-end activities, including journals, accruals, and general ledger maintenance.
Ideally, you will have:
- Experience within a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant, or similar transactional finance role, ideally within a fast-paced retail or high-volume stock environment
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy while working under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a busy finance environment
- Strong Excel and ERP system skills, with a proactive approach and willingness to support wider finance and operational teams
