Finance Assistant
Full-time, Permanent | £28,000 – £30,000 + benefits | Ashford | Office based
We’re partnering with a well-established business in Ashford that is continuing to grow and invest in its finance function. As a result, they are looking to recruit a Finance Assistant to support the team across a broad range of accounting and operational tasks.
This role would suit someone looking to gain practical experience in a commercial environment, with exposure to both transactional finance and reporting.
The Role
This position sits within a small but busy finance team, where you’ll support the smooth running of day-to-day processes while gradually building your understanding of wider financial reporting.
Duties will include:
- Assisting with the processing of invoices, payments, and expenses
- Monitoring incoming payments and helping maintain accurate customer account records
- Supporting supplier account maintenance and resolving queries
- Contributing to weekly and monthly reporting packs
- Helping ensure financial data is recorded accurately across systems
- Providing general administrative support to the finance function as required
About You
We’re looking for someone who is motivated to build a career in finance and enjoys working in a hands-on environment.
You’ll ideally bring:
- A methodical approach with good attention to detail
- Confidence working with spreadsheets and internal systems
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships internally
- A positive attitude and willingness to get involved in different areas of the team
Any of the following would be a bonus:
- Exposure to accounts, finance, or office-based administration
- An interest in studying towards a professional qualification (AAT/ACCA/CIMA)
