Right Now Group are currently recruiting for a Compliance & Internal Audit Coordinator to join a well-established logistics and supply chain organisation based in the Heathrow area. Our client operates within the freight forwarding, warehousing and food logistics sector and is seeking a detail-oriented individual to support compliance, quality, and operational excellence across multiple sites.

Position: Compliance & Internal Audit Coordinator

Location: Heathrow

Hours: Monday – Friday

Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum

Key Responsibilities for a Compliance & Internal Audit Coordinator:

  • Develop and deliver an internal audit programme across warehousing, distribution, and freight-related operations.
  • Conduct both scheduled and ad-hoc audits covering operational processes, quality systems, food safety procedures, supplier compliance, traceability, and warehouse activities.
  • Assess business operations against recognised industry standards, customer requirements, company procedures, and relevant legislation.
  • Identify areas of non-compliance, operational risks, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Produce detailed audit reports, outlining findings, recommendations, and corrective actions.
  • Monitor the implementation and effectiveness of corrective and preventative actions arising from audits and investigations.
  • Review operational procedures, work instructions, and compliance documentation to ensure accuracy and ongoing compliance.
  • Support site management teams during external audits, customer reviews, and regulatory inspections.
  • Assist with root cause investigations relating to customer complaints, operational incidents, service failures, and non-conformance events.
  • Carry out risk assessments across warehouse, transport, freight forwarding, and supply chain processes.
  • Analyse audit findings and compliance trends to identify recurring issues and drive operational improvements.
  • Support the maintenance and continual improvement of Quality Management and Compliance Systems.
  • Provide guidance and training to operational teams on audit requirements, industry standards, and compliance expectations.
  • Maintain accurate records of audits, corrective actions, compliance activities, and performance metrics.
  • Stay informed of changes within the logistics, freight forwarding, warehousing, food safety, and regulatory sectors.
  • Produce KPI reports and management information relating to compliance performance and audit outcomes.

Key Skills for a Compliance & Internal Audit Coordinator:

  • Previous experience within an Internal Auditor, Compliance Auditor, Quality Auditor, or Compliance-focused role.
  • Experience within freight forwarding, logistics, warehousing, distribution, food logistics, supply chain, or transport operations is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of recognised quality, compliance, food safety, or storage and distribution standards would be advantageous.
  • Experience conducting audits, compliance reviews, and corrective action programmes.
  • Strong understanding of operational risk management and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent report writing, analytical, and investigative skills.
  • Ability to interpret standards, procedures, and legislation and apply them within a logistics or operational environment.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and compliance management systems.
