Financial Accountant

  • £48,000 GBP / Year
  • Salary: £48,000

Specsavers

This is a great opportunity to join the Group Finance team within Financial Control & Reporting, where you'll play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity and insight of financial reporting across the Support Office entities. You'll be at the centre of a collaborative function, supporting month-end processes and helping deliver high-quality financial information that drives confident decision-making.

In this role, you'll take ownership of preparing statutory accounts and supporting audits, while managing key elements of the balance sheet including reconciliations, intercompany transactions and analysis packs. You'll work closely with colleagues across both finance and the wider business to resolve technical accounting queries and ensure compliance with accounting standards. Alongside this, you'll have the opportunity to lead on entity reporting packs, contribute to cross-functional projects and support the continuous improvement of processes and controls.

We're looking for a qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA or CIMA) with strong technical accounting knowledge and proven experience producing statutory accounts. You'll bring advanced Excel skills, confidence working with large volumes of data, and a strong attention to detail when identifying and resolving discrepancies. A collaborative approach, clear communication and the ability to build effective working relationships are key, alongside confident stakeholder engagement and the ability to influence across teams.

In return, you'll join a supportive and forward-thinking team where your expertise is valued and your development is prioritised. You'll have the chance to broaden your technical exposure, take ownership of meaningful work and contribute to a team focused on delivering accurate, insightful reporting while continuously improving how things are done.

This role closes on 22nd June 2026: however, we may close the advert sooner if we get inundated with high-quality applications.  Apply now – you'll be pleased that you did.
