Teaching Personnel
We are seeking a knowledgeable and engaging Bookkeeping Teacher to deliver high-quality teaching to learners studying bookkeeping and accounting qualifications. This role is ideal for someone passionate about developing students’ financial skills and preparing them for careers in finance and business.
You will teach core bookkeeping principles, including financial records, ledgers, and accounting software, ensuring learners gain practical, employable skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver structured lessons in bookkeeping and basic accounting
- Teach topics such as double-entry bookkeeping, financial statements, VAT, and payroll
- Prepare learners for recognised qualifications (e.g., AAT or equivalent)
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
- Support learners of varying abilities, offering differentiated instruction
- Integrate accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Xero) into teaching
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and achievement
- Create an inclusive and motivating learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent) or willingness to work towards one
- Relevant accounting/bookkeeping qualification (e.g., AAT Level 3 or above)
- Experience in bookkeeping or finance role
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Familiarity with accounting software
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Passion for teaching and developing others
Desirable (but not essential)
- Experience teaching in further education or training environments
- Experience delivering AAT or similar qualifications
- Assessor or IQA qualifications
