This role requires you to work from 8.00 am to 4.00 pm, Monday-Friday, as this is a full-time position.
We have a variety of School Receptionist roles open in Newmarket (Cambridgeshire). This is a great opportunity to provide essential support to our client schools and become a key part of the local educational community.
Key Responsibilities:
- To provide reception and switchboard services on behalf of the school as well as general administrative support and clerical assistance as and when required
- To work, as part of a team of administrative assistants in the main office of the school
- To operate the school switchboard and to receive and deal with telephone enquiries from parents and the public, giving relevant assistance and information where required
- To produce a variety of materials; e.g. letters, booklets, spreadsheets, reports
- To undertake any such other duties as may be reasonably required from time to time
- To ensure, if required, that all correspondence to and from the school is processed and delivered in a timely manner
- To assist the Office/Cover manager with daily cover helping with providing information to agency staff
- To promote and maintain the standards of the school's commitment to safeguarding children to be responsible for the order and appearance of Reception
- Keep visitors informed of any delays and developments
- To undertake any additional duties as may reasonably be requested by the Headteacher
Main requirements to get clearance for this role:
- Experience working in a school reception role
- Proficiency in MS Office and school management software including SIMS
- Have an organised, flexible, co-operative approach to all work undertaken
- Eligibility to work in the UK – this is essential
- Enhanced DBS on the update service
- Strive for excellence in all aspects of work
- Effective time management and organisational skills
- Willingness to work outside of normal working hours by mutual agreement
