Legal Cashier (Part-Time)
Leamington Spa | 2 days per week | Salary up to £30,000 FTE
I’m currently working with a well-established legal practice who are looking to appoint an experienced Legal Cashier on a part-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking a long-term, flexible role within a friendly and supportive accounts team.
The firm is ideally looking for someone to work two full days per week. There may also be the opportunity to pick up additional hours during periods of annual leave.
The role
Based in the Leamington office, you’ll provide a high-quality legal cashiering service, working closely with fee earners and colleagues across the business. The role offers a broad range of responsibilities, ensuring variety and continued engagement.
Key duties include:
- Managing day-to-day banking procedures, including client and office account transactions
- Processing payments (including faster payments, BACS and telegraphic transfers)
- Client and business account postings and month-end processing
- Client-to-business transfers and billing postings
- Reconciling completion statements and ledgers
- Handling cheques, banking and interest calculations
- Supporting the Accounts Manager with ad hoc and cover duties when required
All work will be carried out in line with the Solicitors Accounts Rules and internal procedures.
About you
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Experience in a legal cashier role
- A solid understanding of the Solicitors Accounts Rules
- Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail
- Good organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines
- A flexible, team-focused approach
Knowledge of general bookkeeping and anti-money laundering procedures would also be advantageous.
