Do you have industry experience in engineering and a passion for developing the next generation of engineers?
This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with apprentices in the workplace, supporting them to develop their skills, achieve their qualifications and progress into successful engineering careers. You’ll play a key role in assessing competence, providing feedback and ensuring high industry standards are met.
What you’ll do:
- Assess apprentices in the workplace against qualification standards
- Support learners to develop their knowledge, skills and behaviours
- Provide clear, constructive feedback to support progress
- Monitor and track learner progress to ensure timely achievement
- Work closely with employers to support apprentice development
- Maintain accurate assessment records and documentation
- Ensure compliance with awarding body and quality standards
What we’re looking for:
- Assess engineering apprenticeship standards, including Machining, Mechatronics, and Engineering Technician, ensuring learners meet required competencies and industry standards.
- Utilise Smart Assessor to effectively track progress, upload portfolios, and maintain accurate learner records in line with awarding body and compliance requirements.
- Hold a relevant engineering qualification (Level 3 or above), demonstrating strong technical knowledge across engineering disciplines.
- Possess a recognised assessor qualification (essential), ensuring high-quality and compliant assessment practice.
- Demonstrate strong communication and organisational skills, enabling effective planning, feedback delivery, and documentation management.
- Build and maintain positive, professional relationships with learners and employers, supporting engagement and successful programme outcomes.
- Adopt a proactive and supportive approach to learner development, providing guidance, coaching, and constructive feedback to help individuals achieve their full potential.
- Hold a full driving licence with willingness to travel, supporting on-site workplace assessments and employer visits.
