Location: Brighton – to start September
Salary: £120 per day
Job Type: Full-time
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 15:30

About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic and supportive team within a KS1 & KS2  Alternative Provision setting. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people and making a meaningful difference to their education and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons
  • Encourage and motivate students to participate in learning activities
  • Provide targeted support to pupils, including those displaying challenging behaviour
  • Help maintain a structured, safe, and nurturing classroom environment
  • Work closely with teaching staff to implement individual learning and behaviour plans
  • Assist in monitoring and assessing student progress
  • Take part in training and continuous professional development opportunities

Requirements

  • GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above)
  • Strong general education across a range of subjects
  • Understanding of the national curriculum and learning programmes
  • Awareness of safeguarding, behaviour management, and relevant school policies
  • A positive, proactive, and resilient approach to working with young people
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Previous experience working with children or young people (preferred)
