Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Oil & Gas 5 Days on site Aberdeen Permanent
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a leading oil & gas organisation based in Aberdeen. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in engineering design, product development, and technical leadership within a specialist equipment environment.
Key Responsibilities – Senior Mechnical Design Engineer: ·Establish and maintain engineering standards, processes, and procedures ·Produce and review technical drawings and manufacturing documentation ·Develop assembly, disassembly, and redress procedures ·Generate engineering test requests and reports ·Lead design planning, reviews, and approvals ·Support product development and equipment qualification/testing ·Oversee prototype design and workshop testing ·Review customer specifications and technical data ·Ensure designs meet performance and engineering standards (API) ·Define Design Acceptance Criteria (DAC) based on customer requirements ·Maintain drawing control and integrity within systems
Requirements – Senior Mechnical Design Engineer: ·Bachelors degree in Engineering / Design (or similar). ·Significant design experience in a similar role. ·Strong knowledge of API (American Petroleum Institute) standards (API 11-D1, Q1 awareness). ·Experience with Solidworks is essential. ·Understanding of downhole, packer or completion equipment is essential. ·Knowledge of engineering design calculations and manufacturing principles.
