We are currently recruiting for a Duty Worker to join a supported housing service in West London. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in hostels, hotels, supported accommodation, housing, maintenance, or front-of-house environments who is passionate about supporting vulnerable people.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the front desk and act as the first point of contact for residents and visitors.
- Carry out regular wellbeing and welfare checks with clients.
- Conduct Health & Safety checks and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
- Support with general housing management duties and occupancy-related tasks.
- Assist residents in attending appointments and accessing relevant services.
- Maintain accurate records, case notes, incident reports, and handovers.
- Work closely with colleagues and external agencies to ensure residents receive appropriate support.
- Promote a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for all residents.
Requirements
Experience within a hostel, hotel, supported housing, homelessness, housing support, concierge, reception, customer service, or maintenance setting.
Strong administrative and IT skills, including accurate record keeping.
Ability to manage a busy front desk and prioritise workload effectively.
Understanding of safeguarding, professional boundaries, and Health & Safety practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Desirable
- Experience supporting vulnerable adults.
- Knowledge of housing and homelessness services.
- Experience completing welfare checks, incident reporting, and handovers.
Volunteer experience will be considered, particularly where it involves supporting vulnerable individuals, housing services, hostels, shelters, community projects, or customer-facing roles.
