Join our dedicated team as a Street Cleansing Operative. This role is crucial in maintaining streets and public areas to meet community needs and adhere to service standards. Day-to-day of the role:
- Maintain streets and public areas according to designed maintenance and improvement programmes, ensuring they meet the needs of the community and adhere to service standards.
- Perform general outdoor duties in all weather conditions, handling tasks allocated based on seasonal requirements and emergency situations.
- Undertake multi-skilled tasks across different service areas as needed to support year-round service continuity.
- Use appropriate equipment and mobile technology safely, reporting any unsafe conditions, accidents, or equipment defects to the line manager.
- Participate in standby arrangements for winter maintenance and emergency cover, providing support and assistance during emergencies.
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
- Knowledge of health and safety legislation relevant to grounds maintenance and street cleansing.
- Experience with street cleansing equipment.
- Proficiency in using IT systems.
- Experience in customer-facing roles, with a focus on service delivery.
- Willingness to undertake further training to enhance skills within the role.
