£27,000 – £35,000 per annum
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Accounts Senior to join a well-established and growing South-West based accountancy practice on a full-time, permanent basis.
As the Accounts Senior, you will manage a diverse portfolio of clients, delivering high-quality accounting, tax and advisory services, supporting and developing junior team members, and working closely with Managers and Partners to ensure assignments are completed accurately, efficiently and within agreed deadlines.
This position offers exposure to a broad range of clients and responsibilities, making it ideal for an ambitious practice professional looking to further develop their technical expertise and client management skills.
The responsibilities:
- Prepare statutory accounts for a varied portfolio of clients
- Complete personal and corporate tax returns accurately and efficiently
- Assist with the preparation of management accounts and financial reporting
- Liaise directly with clients to resolve queries and provide support
- Support tax compliance work and assist with HMRC-related matters
- Review work completed by junior team members and provide guidance
- Deliver software support and training to clients where required
- Manage workload effectively to meet deadlines and client expectations
The candidate:
- AAT qualified or qualified through relevant practice experience
- Strong background in accounts preparation within an accountancy practice
- Good working knowledge of personal and corporate tax
- Experience using software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks or similar
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build client relationships
Previous experience supporting or mentoring junior team members would be advantageous, while exposure to charity clients would be beneficial but is not essential.
